AS A member of the Conservative Group on Suffolk County Council, I have constantly battled against the change the SOR proposals to change to a two-tier education system in Suffolk.
Now I am fighting to stop the options going forward to close so many middle schools. I am fortunate that the leader of the Conservative group understands I was elected to look after the people who I serve.

I fully share the concerns of the Newmarket parents and will help them as much as I can.

My home town of Brandon could lose a wonderful school which is loved by the children the staff and the whole town.

Just imagine 500 children over the age of 11 being bussed 10 miles each way, taking up one-and-a-half hours of their time every day and losing out on any extended activities.

I am confident that we, as councillors, will oppose any of the options put forward in the SOR consultation when it comes before Forest Heath Council on December 8.

Cllr Bill Bishop
