THE events of the last few weeks have proved beyond any doubt that there is massive and growing opposition to Suffolk County Council's Schools Organisation Review document.
The overwhelmingly acrimonious nature of the latest round of so-called "consultation" meetings at schools in Mildenhall and Newmarket proves that parents, pupils, staff and governors are horrified at the implications for their schools.

The blatant recitation by Suffolk County Council Officers of pre-prepared answers to questions did nothing to convince people that their views were valued or actually being listened to.

The recent march through Newmarket demonstrated very clearly that local communities care deeply about their middle schools and the three-tier structure in general.

The only voices in favour of the changes are from some headteachers who stand to gain by an increased number of pupils in their school.

Parents, pupils, staff and governors in all parts of the county need to make their voices heard now and help to put an end to this nonsensical situation once and for all.

Save Suffolk Middle Schools
