Accused robber appears in court

A MAN accused of a string of robberies across Suffolk, incuding in Newmarket and Exning, has appeared in court.
Alan Loveridge, 42, spoke only to confirm his name when he appeared at Ipswich Crown Court yesterday.

Loveridge, of Rede Way, Great Cornard, was remanded in custody until January 23 when he will be brought back before the court to enter pleas to the charges against him.

He is accused of robbing the Newmart store in Newmarket in November 2006 and the Londis store in Exning in October 2006.

Loveridge, who faces a total of five charges of robbery, is also alleged to have been involved in raids at the Londis store in Barrow, in November 2006, the Co-op at Dedham in December 2007 and the post office at Linton, near Haverhill, in November 2006.
