THE parents of a four-year-old boy recovering from a brain tumour were special guests at a fundraising event, organised by the charity which supported them through his illness.
Lisa Witherup-Marsden and her husband Andrew Marsden, of Vincent Close, Newmarket, attended the ball at The University Arms in Cambridge, hosted by the Sick Children's Trust.

The charity runs a home-from-home service in the grounds of Addenbrooke's Hospital, which allowed the couple to stay close to Harry's bedside during treatment for a rare brain tumour.

As well as being treated to a champagne reception, three-course dinner and entertainment, the couple met Lady and Lord Archer, who conducted an auction which raised £7,500.

One of the eight lots was a specially framed drawing of thanks by Harry, a pupil at Exning Primary School, which was auctioned for £800.

Although Harry is now on the road to recovery, his family decided to launch a fundraising campaign to support the Sick Children's Trust.

Mrs Witherup-Marsden said: "We are convinced that Harry's recovery has been greatly accelerated by being able to visit Acorn House with us and by having a real home to relax in.

"Thankyou to The Sick Children's Trust for helping us through the worst time in our lives."
