A MAJOR revamp could be on the cards for Soham's Walter Gidney Pavilion.
Tenders have been sent out to four local architects, whose applications will be considered within the next three months.

The chosen company will be responsible for drawing up plans and designs for how the recreation ground building should be improved.

Once designs have been drawn up and finalised, the council will apply for various grants to fund the project.

Councillor Julie Webb said the architects would need to by sympathetic to the old pavilion, which had a second floor until the late 1920s.

"We are looking at how the pavilion can be improved and made more user-friendly," she said. "It is quite an exciting project and there is a lot which can be done."
