NEWMARKET travelled to Essex in the fourth round of the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup, starting slowly with the opposition scoring after 10 minutes when the Newmarket keeper was caught out of position.
Potter and Brown worked hard in midfield and Walker came close to scoring with a free kick before O'Leary headed over the bar.

Walker had more chances but the equaliser finally came after Bennett chased down a Bergholt defender and cut the ball back for Marshall who hit the post with Walker shooting the rebound high into the back of the net.

Marshall again chased down a defender, winning the ball back to cross in for Brown who volleyed over the bar.

In the second half, Newmarket were again slow to start but when they did, the home team was put under pressure with substitute Palmer and Bennett both going close with long-range shots.

Paynter made two good saves but was unable to stop a second goal from Bergholt close to the end.
