NEWMARKET Town maintained their two-point gap at the top of the table thanks to a 3-1 win at Diss Town on Saturday.
Goals from Dave Grainger, Lee Salmons and Jamie Thurlbourne gave Karl Johnson's side the points in their Ridgeons First Division encounter.

In the Premier Division, Ely City's poor form continued as they went down 3-0 at home to struggling Whitton United.

The result drops the Unwin Ground outfit down to 15th and means they have won just one of their last seven games.

An injury-time penalty dumped Mildenhall Town out of the FA Vase as they lost 2-1 at VCD Athletic.

Matty Robinson had given the visitors the lead just before the break but two second-half goals put the home side through.

In the Midlands Division of the British Gas Southern League, Soham Town suffered a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Chesham United.

Paul Jones was on target for the Greens, who had gone into the game after back-to-back victories.
